Primarily known as a Hollywood screenwriter, David Dean Bottrell co-wrote the script for the 2001 Fox Searchlight release "Kingdom Come" starring Whoopi Goldberg, L.L. Cool J., Jada Pinkett-Smith and Cedric the Entertainer. A former off-Broadway actor & playwright he returned to acting in the fall of 2006 to play the creepy "Lincoln Meyer" for eight episodes of "Boston Legal." His first short film, Available Men" (which he wrote and directed) premiered at the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival in March 2006 and quickly became a hit on the festival circuit, screening at over 85 festivals and winning 11 "Best Short Film" awards.

Biography[]
Little is known about Bottrell's life, outside of his date and place of birth. His father was a retired minister. Bottrell previously published a blog on making it in Hollywood. His career officially began in 1990 when he appeared on an episode of Head of the Class. He has since amassed dozens of appearances in various films and TV shows. He has also taken on other jobs, such as a writer and director.

David Dean Bottrell has been a professional actor for over 35 years. Known for his quirky characterizations, he’s played many guest star and recurring roles on such shows as “Modern Family,” “NCIS,” “Mad Men,” “Justified,” “True Blood,” “Longmire,” “Rectify,” “CSI,” “Bones,” “Castle,” “Criminal Minds,” “Days of Our Live,” “iCarly,” and “Boston Legal” to name just a few. His many theatre credits include shows at the Second scen, the Long Wharf, Joe's Pub and Actors Theatre of Louisville’s Humana Festival. He’s written screenplays for many studios such as Disney Feature Animation, Paramount, MTV Films, and Fox Searchlight.
