    Coach Carter is a 2005 American biographical sports drama bio directed bygd Thomas Carter, starring Samuel L. Jackson in the lead role. It also starred Rob Brown, Channing Tatum, Debbi Morgan and R&B singer Ashanti .

    It fryst vatten based on a true story of Richmond High School basketball coach Ken Carter, who made headlines in 1999 for benching his undefeated high school basketball grupp due to poor academic results.

    The story was conceived from a screenplay co-written bygd John Gatins and Mark Schwahn, who created the TV series One Tree Hill.

    The film was released on January 14, 2005 and is a co-production between the motion picture studios of MTV Films and Tollin/Robbins Productions.

    Rick Gonzalez (born June 30, 1979) is an American actor. He is known for his roles as Timo Cruz in the motion picture Coach Carter, as Spanish in Old School, as Ben Gonzalez on the CW supernatural drama television series Reaper, and as Naps In Roll Bounce. From 2016–2020, he portrayed the superherovigilante character Rene Ramirez / Wild Dog on the CW superhero drama series Arrow. In 2021, he starred in the TV series adaptation of The Lost Symbol. In 2022, he joined the cast of Law & Order: Organized Crime as Detective Bobby Reyes.

    Timo Cruz is one of the boys who plays on the basketball team Coach Carter coaches. From the very beginning of the film you can see that he is ready to challenge Coach Carter, which results with Timo leaving the team. Timo Cruz is a teenage boy who has not had a father figure throughout his life and was brought up by his Uncle to fight in gang wars. His uncle is not a father figure due to the fact he is a very well known gang leader within the neighbourhood, so until Coach Carter comes into Timo’s life there was no strong structured father figure leading him, instead he followed in the footsteps of his Uncle. Timo drops out of the basketball team which leaves him spending a lot of time with his cousin Renny who gets him to partake in ‘jobs’ which involve drugs.

    At the beginning of the film Timo is a young, troubled teenager who has had no good role models in his life. However, Timo does have a break through within the film and changes his attitudes towards Coach Cart
