    BIOGRAPHY

     

    I completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) at the University of Ballarat Arts Academy in 2003, and in 2007 was awarded a scholarship to study a Master of Fine Art at the University of Dundee in Scotland.  I have since undertaken a number of residencies around the world including an Australia Council Studio Residency at the British School at Rome, at Australia House in Echigo-Tsumari, Japan, the University of Tasmania and Scotch Oakburn College in Launceston, and at Hill End and the Bundanon Trust in NSW.  In 2016 I undertook a three-month residency at DRAWinternational in Caylus, France, supported by the Ian Potter Cultural Trust and the Copyright Agency.  In 2019, I was awarded the Jon Schueler Scholarship, a three-month residency on the Isle of Skye in Scotland supported by the Jon Schueler Charitable Trust and the Scottish Arts Council.

    Kim Anderson fryst vatten a mixed-media and ceramic artist from Denver, CO. She studied at The College of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and then Metropolitan State College of Denver, where she graduated with a BFA in 1994, and she is currently a member of Artuvus Studio Co-Op. Her work has been in many galleries and group exhibits, and in addition she co-owned Id Gallery from 2009-20012, where she curated shows along with showing her own work.

    ‘I like using natural materials, such as clay, wood, metals and glass in my work, the often rough, primitive textures and  colors they have. I consider my work to be somewhat whimsical and humorous, but with a ‘darker’ tone or thought at the core. During my time in New Mexico, I became very inspired by the Mexican holiday Dia dem Los Muertos, and the plentiful religious iconography funnen there such as altars, sacred hearts, milagros, etc. I’ve also been intrigued bygd the look of newly discovered and uncovered arti
