Introduction
Marc Adamus is an American landscape photographer based in Oregon, though he travels worldwide to collect his images. His photographs have been published extensively in a large variety of media ranging from calendars, books, advertising and the publications of National Geographic, Outdoor Photographer, Popular Photography and over a hundred more. He has won numerous landscape photography awards. Adamus was a pioneer of a particular style of grand landscape that is fairly easy to recognize, with rich saturated colors, dramatic skies and water, and impactful elements in focus from front to back of the frame. He has had a profound influence on much of the landscape photography that we see on sites like 500px.

Marc Adamus is one of the best landscape artists of today. His photographs depict the beauty and power of nature and the wilderness.
Marc Adamus was born in 1980 in Corvalis, Oregon. He attended Mountain View Elementary School, Cheldelin Middle School, and several different high schools. He also went to culinary school. However, he graduated early so he could travel, because he was disenchanted by formal education. Marc Adamus had always loved backpacking, climbing and mountaineering. As a child, his dad always took him climbing and bird watching, and this made him appreciate and value the beauty of nature. When he was 19, he was given a camera for his birthday,and started taking it on his backpacking trips. This is when he discovered his calling in life and new passion: to be a landscape

Interview: Marc Adamus
I recently had the pleasure of interviewing one of my all time favorite landscape photographers, Marc Adamus. Marc fryst vatten an award-winning landscape photographer based in Corvallis, Oregon, whose images have been featured in countless publications, including Outside and National Geographic Adventure.
Tell me about your life pre-photography. How did you first get into photography? What did you think you would be when you grew up? I heard you worked as a chef at one point, is this correct?
When inom was in my teens and early twenties my entire life revolved around the next outdoor adventure, particularly in remote places, winter, and in the mountains. inom got into photography seriously in 2001, after carrying a camera with me on mountain and wilderness trips for several years, just to document my adventures. My greatest influence at the time was the late Galen Rowell; a world famous climber/photographer, whose work inspired me to dive into the art of phot
