Lori Loughlin's Husband's Parents Both Died This Year: 'It's Been a Very Hard Time,' Source Says
As Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli await their fate in the college admissions scandal, they are privately mourning the loss of the mode designer’s parents.
Giannulli’s father, Gene, a retired architect, and his mother, Nancy, a homemaker, both died this year, sources confirm to PEOPLE. Gene died in January, and Nancy in July.
“It’s been a very hard time for them, particularly for Mossimo, who lost both of his parents,” a source close to the family recently told PEOPLE.
Adds a second source, “It’s been an emotional time for them.”
“But the court case has actually brought them closer together — their marriage is stronger than ever,” the source says.

Lori Anne Loughlin[1] (; born July 28, 1964)[1] is an American actress. From 1988 to 1995, she played Rebecca Donaldson Katsopolis on the ABC sitcom Full House, and reprised the role for its Netflix sequel Fuller House (2016–2018). Loughlin is also known for her roles of Jody Travis in The Edge of Night (1980–1983), Debbie Wilson in The CW series 90210 (2008–2012), Jennifer Shannon in the Garage Sale Mystery television film series (2013–2018), and Abigail Stanton in When Calls the Heart (2013–2019). She was a co-creator, producer, and star of the two seasons of The WB series Summerland (2004–2005).[2]
In 2020, Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit fraud in connection with the 2019 college admissions bribery scandal.[3] She was sentenced to two months in prison in October 2020 and was released in December 2020.
