Uber CEO splits with beautiful violinist girlfriend
Cue the sad violin: Uber CEO Travis Kalanick has split with his violinist girlfriend Gabi Holzwarth, sources exclusively tell Page Six.
The 40-year-old tech billionaire was dating the beautiful, talented street violinist, 26, for nearly two years, but sources say they recently broke up due to mounting pressures of his work. Losses are continuing to grow at ride-hailing juggernaut Uber, which reportedly lost $1.2 billion in the first half of 2016 alone, mainly due to losses in China.
A tech insider told us: “Travis is under a lot of pressure right now. It’s hard for him to focus on a relationship.”
It appeared that his relationship with Holzwarth — dubbed “the violin girl of Silicon Valley” because of her popular performances at tech events — took a lot of dedication.
The couple started dating after they were introduced at a party hosted by Shervin Pishevar, a venture capitalist who’s invested in Uber and Airbnb. Pishevar d

'You go to an event and there’s just a bunch of models they’ve flown in': Professional violinist and Uber CEO's ex reveals more details about sexist culture in Silicon Valley
A professional violinist and former romantic interest of Uber CEO Travis Kalanick has shared more details about the sexist culture in Silicon Valley after being dragged into reports of a business trip to Seoul, South Korea, a karaoke bar and possible escorts.
Gabi Holzwarth, 27, described ongoing scenarios that objectified women at events she attended with Kalanick, 40, while they were dating, according to HuffPost.
'You go to an event and there’s just a bunch of models they’ve flown in,' Holzwarth said. 'That’s what they like to play with. That’s pretty much it.'

How Uber CEO Travis Kalanick helped save his girlfriend's life
Last week Silicon Valley had yet another incident in which a tech-industry event was insulting to women — and one woman in particular.
It turns out the woman involved, prominent violinistGabi Holzwarth, has an amazing story of overcoming a decade-long battle with an eating disorder that almost killed her. She says her romance with Uber CEO Travis Kalanick helped save her life.
She has now been on the path to recovery for about a year, shortly after she and Kalanick started dating, and has gone three months without a relapse.
"Travis, he's been so helpful in my recovery. He's been such a rock. That's a side that no one really sees about him," she told Business Insider.
To recap: During the eighth annual Crunchies Awards last Thursday, actor/comedian TJ Miller, known for his role on HBO's satire TV show "Silicon Valley," was poking fun at Valley startups when he made a joke about Kalanick, then one about
